Breaking News Japan – No International Fans For Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics

Sad news! Many of you had hope that due to the Olympic games held in summer 2021, Japan would open its borders to international visitors. But on the 20th of March, the Olympics organisers confirmed that International fans will not be able to attend the event.

This decision is considered a “compromise” to be able to organise safely the Tokyo Olympic games in 2021.

Public opinion in Japan is actually in favour of this decision even if the country seems to start to control the spread of the coronavirus. Today (21st of March 2021) is actually the last day of the state of emergency in Tokyo area.

You probably all have this question in mind: when will I be able to visit Japan? And the short answer is: nobody knows yet. If I would make a personal guess, I would say that in Autumn 2021, Japan may start to allow international visitors to visit Japan again.

But this decision will also depends on how fast Japan will distribute the vaccine to its population. I also predict that only people who has been vaccinated will be able to visit the country of the rising sun.

Please be patient and I’m sure you will be able to come here very soon. In the meantime, please be safe and take care of your self and your loved ones.
