Attention, the footage below may be disturbing!
As you may have heard, the former prime minister Shinzo Abe has been shot on July 8 during a speech in Nara prefecture.
The suspect is now identified and his name is Tetsuya Yamagami. He’s actually a former member of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force.
The gun he used was apparently homemade. The suspect was only 3 meters away from Shinzo Abe when when he fired 2 gunshots.
The reason why he shot Shinzo Abe are still unclear but more information will probably emerge soon.
The whole country is shocked by the news as gun shots are very rare in Japan.
